Relationship Counselling

Support for All Types of Relationships

At Creative Horizons Counselling, relationship counselling isn’t just for romantic couples. Our work supports a wide range of human connections—because relationships in all forms can be both meaningful and complex.

Whether you’re navigating challenges with a partner, co-parent, family member, friend, or colleague, relationship counselling offers a compassionate space to explore, understand, and grow together.

Who Is It For?

We welcome individuals and pairs from all walks of life, including:

  • Couples (married, dating, or separated)

  • Co-parents and blended families

  • Parents and adult children

  • Adult siblings and extended family members

  • Friends in conflict or transition

  • Business or creative partners

  • Members of chosen families or community-based relationships

Common Reasons People Seek Relationship Counselling:

  • Strengthening communication and connection

  • Navigating conflict, change, or loss

  • Rebuilding trust and repairing ruptures

  • Exploring values, needs, and expectations

  • Creating healthy boundaries

  • Enhancing collaboration in parenting or shared roles

  • Processing past events impacting current dynamics

A Flexible, Inclusive Approach

Our therapists offer a client-centred and trauma-informed approach, grounded in respect, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity. Depending on your needs, sessions may involve:

  • Joint conversations

  • Individual reflection

  • Expressive arts or play-based approaches (especially in child/family work)

  • Nature-based or somatic elements to support nervous system regulation

Relationship counselling can be a space of healing and hope—where people come together to be seen, heard, and understood. You don’t have to face it alone.

Child and Youth Sessions

Children need counselling too. We offer play therapy, art therapy and expressive art therapy for children 2 years of age and up. Children use play to communicate. We use expressive therapies: play, art, music, puppets, sand tray to help children learn to regulate their emotions, feelings and behaviour. Parenting sessions are required.

Youth Counselling is designed to support youth in navigating the complex issues of adolescence and becoming a young adult. We offer age-appropriate modalities ranging from talk therapy to expressive art therapy to help youth manage emotions, intrusive thought patterns and how to use coping techniques.

We offer counselling for children, adolescents, and siblings.

Healing starts with being heard.

Counselling with Our Students

Creative Horizons Counselling is excited to announce the addition of two students who joined our team in September 2025. They both completed their Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

As we grow and expand our services, we may support more students in the future, as this provides greater opportunity and accessibility for individuals and families in the Victoria community. We are pleased to offer counselling at a lower rate with our new counselling students as they complete their practicum.

Before your sessions begin and for the duration of your counselling experience, the students will complete a supervised process to ensure there is a good fit between you and the student counsellor.

Each student will receive ongoing supervision from Michelle and Lisa. This includes weekly individual supervision and group supervision once a month.

Group Sessions & Workshops

Our group counselling and workshops can provide a powerful healing experience. Connecting with others through groups offers unique advantages, including a sense of belonging and connection.

These shared experiences empower individuals to give and receive support in a non-judgmental, inclusive environment, increasing overall health and wellness.

Sharing is Healing.
