Why Choose a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)?

  • BCACC

To hold the designation of Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors requires counsellors to have at least a master’s degree in fields such as psychology, clinical counselling, education, or social work. In addition, RCCs must meet or exceed clinical supervision requirements and voluntarily commit to practicing in accordance with an ethical code of conduct and standards of practice.

    BCRPT
To become a Registered Play Therapist in British Columbia, clinicians must complete extensive education, training, and supervised experience to ensure safe and effective work with children.

    This includes:
A Master’s or Medical degree in a recognized mental health field,

    Specialized play therapy training,

Supervised clinical experience, totalling 2,000+ hours, with required coursework in areas such as child development, ethics, and cultural responsiveness
