Sherry-Lynn Squitti

We would like to introduce Sherry-Lynn Squitti(she/her), our new team member and Registered Clinical Counsellor, who offers psychotherapy, parent consultation, school consultation, and psychoeducation for our children and youth. She works with individuals of all ages, couples, and families.She is also a Registered Clinical Supervisor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors Registration #8711.
Sherry-Lynn is of Mixed Ancestry and identifies as Metis (Cree, French & Irish) on her maternal side. She has been described as compassionate, empathetic, supportive, attuned, and knowledgeable.
She has been serving children and families for over 30 years. Over the years, she has worked as a certified counsellor with the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), Medavie Blue Cross, BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), ICBC, and the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).
Sherry-Lynn’s practice is attachment and trauma-informed, with the focus placed on relationships. Her expertise is working with children, youth, families, individuals, couples, and First Responders.
Sherry-Lynn is trained in evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy (trauma and anxiety), dialectical behavioural therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, solution-focused therapy, art therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Gottman Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples & Family Therapy, Parent Child Relationship Therapy, SPACE (Supporting Parents for Anxious Childhood Emotions), and Circle of Security. Additionally, she is trained as an instructor for motivational interviewing and in critical debriefing.
For the past 12 years, Sherry-Lynn has provided clinical supervision in a variety of clinical settings. She has extensive experience working within diverse communities across BC, supporting complex families, children in care, and Indigenous communities. She has led clinical teams at the Ministry of Children & Family Development, Vancouver Coastal Health, and BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital in the Indigenous Health Program.
She has taught art therapy internationally and is currently developing resources for adopted children and children in care. Sherry-Lynn identifies as an adoptee.
