It's normal for families to hit some bumps along the way—it's just part of life. I'm here to help families come together, tackle these challenges, and find positive ways forward. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Lisa supports kids, teens, and their families in creating new bonds that lead to healing and understanding.
Many children and young people benefit from the opportunities that counselling provides. Growing up isn’t easy! Children and youth face challenging issues such as navigating school, peer pressure, family conflicts, coping with loss and grief, or even facing medical or mental health diagnoses. Counselling offers them a safe and supportive space where they can truly unpack their challenges without fear of judgment. It’s a place to express their feelings freely, manage those strong emotions that sometimes feel overwhelming, and gain insight into their relationships, not just with family and friends but also with themselves. Ultimately, counselling aims to help these young individuals develop resilience so they can bounce back stronger when faced with life’s hurdles.
Lisa approaches her work compassionately, guided by principles honouring each person's unique strengths and experiences. She is committed to understanding your family's relationship dynamics through a trauma-informed, client-centred lens that respects cultural sensitivities and affirms neurodiversity. With mindfulness at the core of her practice, Lisa gently supports individuals and families in identifying their counselling goals and works alongside them to achieve these aspirations.
Drawing on her training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), AutPlay, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), EMDR for children, SPACE, Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT), and Expressive Art Therapy, Lisa uses an integrative approach to work with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
