Kathleen Krznaric
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Kathleen holds a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Post-Baccalaureate Degree Diploma in Interprofessional Mental Health and Addictions from Camosun College.
Bringing a wealth of both professional and personal experience, Kathleen approaches her work with authenticity and compassion. As a wife and partner of 18 years and a mother of three, she understands that life and relationships can be complex, deeply fulfilling, ever-changing—and at times, profoundly challenging.
Over the past seven years, including her work as a Best Babies Coordinator and Youth & Family Counsellor, Kathleen has supported families, parents, youth, couples, and individuals through life’s difficulties—those moments when one can feel stuck, uncertain, or overwhelmed. In these times, counselling can provide a safe space to unpack challenges, gain clarity, identify patterns, and explore opportunities for growth and healing.
Kathleen’s areas of focus include:
Parenting support for families with neurodivergent children and youth
Working with youth experiencing depression, anxiety, or self-esteem challenges
Couples counselling and individual counselling
Support for neurodiverse individuals and their families
Her practice is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), the Gottman Method (Couples Therapy), Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She offers a personalized path toward balance and well-being—rooted in hope, growth, self-compassion, and empowerment. Kathleen works through a trauma-informed, inclusive, and neurodiversity-affirming lens, ensuring every client feels met with empathy, safety, flexibility, and non-judgment.
Beyond her professional life, Kathleen loves to spend time outdoors with her family and is an avid traveler who treasures exploring new places and cultures. She also enjoys spending time with her mini-labradoodle, baking goodies for friends and family, and playing piano.
Choosing the right counsellor is a meaningful step. Kathleen invites you to book a free 20-minute meet-and-greet—online or in person at her welcoming Westshore office—to see if her approach feels like the right fit for your needs and goals.
